By Anonymous

HELSINKI, FINLAND March 9, 2004 -- The European Wholesale Group seeks to offer major vendors pan-European co-marketing programs to address a vast number of resellers throughout Europe; using a top-of-the-range platform for the distribution of products and services. The alliance offers ICT vendors an appealing new option for their European distribution strategy.

"The European Wholesale Group members expect to improve the efficiency of their internal operations, by exchanging their experience of best practices, and by extensive use of internal benchmarking. GNT Group covers the Nordics and the Baltics, and is famous for its streamlined logistics and excellent profitability. Over 70 percent of GNT's customer purchase orders are received via the Internet", comments Alex Sozonoff, chairman of the European Wholesale Group.

"Invitation to join EWG is a recognition that our operations are in par with the leading players in Europe. We look forward to developing our operations further and gaining benefits for being Europe wide without adding structural costs. We expect to increase our cost efficiency even further by sharing best practises in the group. Being local and having these benefits will bring added value to our customers", says Mikko Pakkanen, CEO, GNT Group.

The European Wholesale Group's objective is to improve customer service, adapting the vendors' global strategies to local circumstances; thus making local companies, each holding a leading position in their respective markets, even stronger locally, without adding structural costs of pan-European organisations.
